Factors Affecting Sexual Experiences of Freshmen in College

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to understand sexual experiences of freshmen in college and to provide basic resources for sexual education program by identifying general tendency of sexual experiences. The subjects were 384 freshmen nursing students and engineering students. Data were collected through structured questionnaires from May 9 to May 30th, 2009. Data analysis was done descriptive statistics, independent t-test, X2-test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Logistic Regression with SPSS 20.0. As a result, positive correlation were found between sexual knowledge and attitudes. On the other hand; age, gender friend, engineering division students were significant factor associate with sexual experiences. Moreover, Male students had more sexual experiences than female students. Male students had reasonably much higher level of sexual knowledge than female students, Furthermore, in terms of sexual attitudes, students with sexual experiences were more open-minded to sexual pleasure and having a sex before marriage than the opposition group.
The result of this study suggest that program for advanced effective programs to offer continuous and pragmatically education on sexual health for freshmen in college by gender.
